A music video with Swadesi ft. Prakash Bhoir
Cheers to the sheer beauty of this film! Grateful to Swadesi for the chance to shape, direct, and edit every moment of this groundbreaking project.
In the face of urban expansion, Waghoba, the tribal deity, embodies the spirit of the wild, a guardian whose presence signifies the struggle to preserve the delicate balance between nature and development. As the city extends its reach, Waghoba becomes a symbolic figure, echoing the concerns of the tribe and the impending threat to the sanctity of their ancestral lands.
"Adivasi" serves as a powerful ode to the forest's beauty and the relentless struggle by its inhabitants to preserve it. It's truly an honour to be a part of a project that resonates so deeply with my ideals, allowing me to contribute my passion and dedication to something meaningful.

An ad film for Maharashtra Migration Tracking System
Seasonal migration, sometimes lasting more than six months, has the greatest impact on the health, nutrition, and security of children, adolescent girls, and pregnant and lactating women in migrant families. The Maharashtra Migration Tracking System (Maha MTS) developed by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra (GoM), was envisaged to ensure interoperability of universal health and nutrition benefits/schemes for the period of distress-driven seasonal migration (usually from October to June). These include routine immunization, health screening, growth monitoring, THR etc.
Please watch the film to understand what Maha-MTS actually is and how the system helps people who migrate across Maharashtra for work.

A short film on Early Childhood Development
Prateek had this wonderful opportunity to write and direct a short film produced by the Department of Women and Child Development, GoM and UNICEF while working with them as a Program Officer.
The film revolves around Tara - a little girl from rural Maharashtra known for her intelligence, and her adventures with an Anganwadi Sevika called Aabha Tai. They travel around their village advocating and promoting information related to early childhood development. This particular episode talks about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of a baby and complementary feeding after the first 6 months.

A short film on domestic abuse
Children growing up in abusive households often feel guilty about their inability to ‘rescue’ their mother. Pinjra is a 12-minute film based on the struggles of an adolescent boy observing his parents’ long-term abusive relationship. The boy's final stand against his violent father leads him to an eerie realization..
The primary action and drama of the film pivot on domestic abuse and its many ramifications on a family. However, intrinsic to this premise is the idea of self-imposed inhibitions, mainly as a result of social constructs and the manner in which gender dynamics are enforced. A pinjra or cage thus becomes the defining metaphor for the lived reality of this mother-son duo who are both direct and indirect victims of an abusive husband and father.
The film is marked by notable performances and frugality of dialogue which is employed judiciously to share its intentions with the viewer. It does not shy away from sentimentalism, tying it with a smattering of animation to drive its message home.

What It Feels Like
A short film about anxiety.
"The seamless edit of the film lends it a notable gravity, allowing it to be a moving depiction of its protagonist's struggle with crippling anxiety. From the suffocating feeling of drowning to the inability to speak or even deal with the most mundane tasks like answering a phone or switching off an alarm - the plot exhibits how any or all of these activities can hurl someone into deep, dark pits of their own mind. This is further enhanced by providing skilled visualization for each of these thoughts.
While several films on mental health run the danger of offering little to nothing new or unique on the topic, What It Feels Like stands out owing to the structuring of the narrative, and the honesty and dedication to its subject matter. The realization of the premise shows deep potential on the part of the team, thereby allowing the film to be an adequate portrayal of a mental condition innumerable people in general, and Indian students in particular, grapple with on a regular basis."
